At the start of 2025, it was decided that the roughly 250 softcover edition copies from the original 2018 printing of A PLAIN VIEW that had been set aside to be sold at a future date would receive a hardcover re-binding and be made available as a special limited edition.
While the book blocks (the pages themselves) were simply removed from their original covers and remain unchanged, the newly constructed cover for this very special one-off release has been reimagined, its design created by Texas-based photographer Steven Reeves and featuring a foil-stamped silhouette imprint of the roadside structure as seen on the cover of the original editions of the book (softcover example pictured). Additionally, a signed companion 5 x 7-inch premium postcard featuring this image will be included with each Special Edition 2025 copy.
Upon completion of the re-binding process, the exact number of successfully re-bound books was counted at 230, with each copy to come signed, numbered (1-through-230), and ink-stamped on the original credits page with the notation ‘APV Re-Bind Edition 2025'.
APV features 110 photographs made throughout Texas between January and April 2017 with 4x5 color films (the 2018 editions - hardcover and softcover - feature 111 photographs including cover image).
