About Good Morning America

Good Morning America explores the landscapes of the USA from the perspective of a British photographer raised on American cultural exports. Power, as everyone, was heavily exposed to American culture growing up during the 21st century. Through popular media such as film, television, and fashion, this exposure shaped his vision, and thus intrigue, of America. This book is a collection of Power's photographic depiction of America, gathered during his time travelling the continent. There are few people in Power's photographs as he explores America as an outsider. There are no portraits, connections, anecdotes, or intimate human relations here. He instead addresses a series of surfaces and objects which tend to showcase examples of muted disappointment and pessimism. Power finds a nation divided by race, geography, economic status, and inequality.
