This book is past overdue, as all of his earlier books are out of print at the time of our publication. Within around 20 years as a Professor at the Art Institute of Design, Chicago he formed a generation of photographers in the States.
His artistic work is appreciated in particular by important colleagues, not without cause Stephen Shore did use an image by Kenneth Josephson for the cover of his book On Photography.
