Focusing entirely on observational photography, Dorothy Bohm’s work shows her fascination with ordinary people and the world of fleeting appearances. In the late 1960s and 1970s, she created an important body of work depicting street life in London and revealing a wide range of human sentiment and incident. Bohm is part of a remarkable generation of female émigré photographers who fled Nazi persecution and helped shape post-war British visual culture.
