About

The Lake (2023) is a handmade artist book that explores the relationship between people and their natural environment and how the visceral connection between psyche and place shapes identity, memory and the perception of time. The photographs in The Lake were taken over an 8-year period at a lake that has multigenerational significance to the artist’s family and explore collective story-making and subjective landscapes that are formed through tradition. All of the photographs in The Lake were shot on film in multiple formats and printed in various alternative photographic techniques. The book was constructed with five different Japanese papers.
