About War Primer 2

War Primer 2 was printed in a limited edition. It is a book that 'physically inhabits the pages of Bertolt Brecht's remarkable 1955 publication War Primer'. Accordingly, the title is a direct reference to the textbooks used in elementary school to teach children how to read. The original book contained Bercht's newspaper clippings and a poem and it collected almost three decades of activity. In it, Brecht expressed his uneasiness about the role of politics and capitalism in the world, using the format of a textbook as subversion. We can say that this book is a belated sequel. However, there are differences in the content. This book showcases powerful images of the conflict generated by both sides of the so-called "War on Terror". Furthermore, War Primer 2 is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art and was awarded the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2013.
